Carmindy Lynn Whitlock

She's here!!! Carmindy was born October 26, 2010 @ 10:03 p.m. She weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long. Here is her story...

I had a Doctors appointment that morning. We had discussed earlier with our doctor our options of how to get her here. I was done being pregnant! We were ready and the doctor was going out of town and didn't want to miss being there. Neither did I. Anyway he decided to strip my membranes and hope that I would deliver before the weekend. Since I was only dilated to a 2.5 it might take some time. He told me to do some walking and keep busy. After my appointment nothing was happening. Grady and I went to his work to eat lunch before I headed to get Taylee. I decided to walk. She was only at his dad's house. So i grabbed the stroller and started my stroll. Nothing. I had a few contractions but nothing stronger than the ones I had been having for weeks. After stopping at 2 parks and walking I was exhausted. So I decided to take a nap. Still not a whole lot going on. I was contracting but not regular or strong enough. That changed once I was up and going again. Once Grady got home we decided to do some hard core stairs at the college stadium to really get things going! (I know crazy right!) So we dropped Tay off at his brothers house around 7:30 p.m. so she could watch movies with them and off we went. Once we got to the stadium it was packed full of people so we decided that since I was having some really strong contractions that we could go walk around the hospital and see how things were going. All I had to do was get steady contractions going and I could be admitted!! So we went and walked for a good hour timing contractions. They were between 2-5 minutes apart and getting closer and stronger. I finally gave in and called my doctor around 8:30 and told him we decided to go in. We made it up to the 3rd floor but not without having really bad contractions.

The nurses had me change and get hooked up to the monitors. I was now regularly having contractions and starting to struggle with the pain. (I never had to do this with Tay so I didn't know what to expect.) The nurse checked me and I was at a 5 and my water hadn't broken yet but I was staying!!! She had to do all the computer stuff but I was at the point that I wanted the epidural! She was awesome. They moved me into my delivery room and got my IV hooked up as fast as they could. There was nothing Grady or any of the nurses could do to give me relief and all I did was ask them to hurry!!! They got the anesthesiologist in there as fast as they could and he got me the good stuff! I was definitely not the most pleasant person that night. But I wasn't the worst they had seen. And here we are after the good stuff!
After getting pain meds the nurse checked me again. There was nothing left and she broke my water! She went and got the doctor but not after teasing him.

3 contractions of pushing later we have Carmindy Lynn Whitlock.

There was merconium in my water and it was ALL OVER Carmindy. So she got her first bath right there in the delivery room. But she had no problems with breathing or anything. She was perfect.

The proudest Daddy in the entire world

One happy mom!

Visiting hours end at 8 so Tay couldn't come meet her baby sister until the next day. She came first thing in the morning and she was so excited. She climbed right on the bed and started giving hugs and kisses. And all she wanted to do was hold her.

Tay is such a big sister and she let all the nurses know to bring back her sister whenever they had to take her for testing. Most of all she wanted to know why we couldn't come home right away. Lucky for her both doctors gave the ok to let us go home the the next day so by 8ish on the 27th we were home being a family.
To say the least no one expected this to happen this quickly even my doctor was surprised. But we are so blessed and lucky that everything go so smoothly and quick. We are all in love with this little girl and can't wait to see what she becomes.
