Pine Valley June 3 2012

We decided to head up to Pine Valley to do a little fishing...again! Luckily for me my in-laws were there and if you know my girls they are all about Grandma Bev! And I just got a new Lense for my camera that I wanted to try out. It was so pretty up there, very green. So I just messed around with it.

The moon was totally amazing that night. It came up right over the mountain and it was huge and very orange because of the fires. I took so many shots of it but these were just a few that I liked.

The sunset was very light and pink and since everyone was calling it quits for the day, because the fish weren't biting anything but the bugs over the water, the water turned really calm.

Of course the girls with Grandma "Beb" Bev.

I loved playing around with my camera. I always do. Let me know what you think of the pics.

Our new Kitchen

We have been living in our house for almost a year!! Grady and I have been talking about painting. Because our entire house is the same tan-ish color that I can't stand anymore. Being a stay-at-home mom, it really gets old looking at the same color of walls throughout the house. I desperately needed something to brighten up the open kitchen/living room. I really wanted to paint the wall in the kitchen blue. But Grady didn't want a blue wall. He said red was fine but I think everyone and their Grandma has a red wall. I just didn't want it. So for months we would look at colors and we decided on green. So we got a sample and I started the process.

Grady was heading out of town and I really  wanted to have the wall painted why he was gone. Since we had decided on the color I was ready to go. But because our walls our tan, blah, we have to do 2 coats. Even with the paint/primer in one! Such a task. But I got to work and got it done, well almost, I ran out of paint.

Got more paint and Grady to move our GIGANTIC ladder so I could finish the wall up.

Here it is completely done!! It was exhausting doing it but I can say I have gotten pretty good at doing so.

This is the color we picked. Its called Corn Husk Green. If it looks really pale its not. You have to look at this pic at and angle without direct light.  And we absolutely love it. It has already made such a difference in brightening up the rooms.

Now that this project of painting is done. On to the decortating part. I have a huge shelf I'm almost done with but I need something really awesome to go on the wall. If you have any ideas let me know.
Well on to the next project! Actually we don't have one. Well maybe we do. Soon we should have a backyard...well at least the start of one...hopefully.

Here Fishy Fishy

For Memorial Day we decided to get together with Grady's Family and hit Enterprise reservoir for some much needed relaxation and some killer fishing. If you know me you know I don't like to fish, at all. But Grady got into it a little bit last summer and so did Taylee. We have a strict catch and release policy at our house. Why keep it if you aren't going to eat it! Anyway we had quite a successful day fishing. Here are some pictures to prove it.

First Catch of the Day. Way to go Pat!!!

For the first time since she got her pole Tay caught a fish all by herself. Yes that huge fish on her tiny little Princess fishing pole. She was so excited. She kept telling us that she had one and we finally realized it when it was close enough to see it. She reeled it all the way to shore. She wouldn't touch the thing or hold it or even kiss it!! ...

But she did talk to it while Grady was getting the hook loose. She kept saying, "its ok little fishy we'll get that out of you real soon and you can get back in the water." It was pretty funny stuff. The best thing is that she actually understands now that you just kinda hang out on your chair and wait for the fish to bite and you stay quiet. She did just that up until about the last hour and then she decided she was bored.

Letting the fish go

Here she goes again!! Bringing in #2. She was so excited she said, "I can't believe I just caught my second first fish!!!"

While Grady and Taylee were fishing this what Carmindy was doing. Eating and being really cute. She loved to walk all over the beach and play with her cousin Graham. And I chased both of them around with the camera taking pics inbetween capturing all the catches of the day.

This is what Grandpa David caught. Taylee wouldn't quit teasing him about how small his fish was.

Half of the family

Grady's first catch of the day!!!

Yes she is eating again. More snacks!

Finally caught something that was alive!

Wyatt and his big Mama fish. It was leaking some sort of fluid while he held it. Do fish pee? That was a question for the day.

Somehow Tay ended up like this. Who needs face paint when you have dirt?

Carmindy and I hanging out. She was being a little stink but she had fun.

Showing Carm the fish. She didn't know what to think of the thing. She freaked out when we asked her if she wanted to touch it.

By the end of the day we were all exhausted from playing around, fishing, talking and laughing. We all got a little too much sun but it was worth it in the end. Because Taylee caught her Second First fish.

Big Girl Carmindy

I can't believe that this little thing is such a big girl. She is a monkey and has since aquired the name. She climbes on EVERYTHING!!!!! She can climb up our swingset slide and go down all by herself. She has already mastered stairs and furniture and as a matter of fact ladders. (We don't let her up those much.) She has such a silly personality. She loves to follow Taylee around and do what she is doing. She doesn't much care for shoes and socks and always is taken them off as soon as she can.

She loves this tractor at Grandmas house. It was Grady's growing up. I'm sure there is a picture of him on it but I don't have it.
Carmindy is very sneaky. I think its because she knows that if she isn't she'll get in trouble for getting into things. I can always find her in my bathroom drawers or trying to climb the shelves in the pantry for a snack.
She loves to eat and eat. She loves fruit snacks and cookies. Popsicles and ice cream and she REFUSES to share. I don't blame her!! She will eat most fruits and vegetables but right now she really doesn't like meat.
She loves to be outside and find rocks and play in the dirt. She loves to let us know that she has found the dog poop and kinda hisses and points at it. Honestly it is the funniest thing ever.

Her stats:  Height- 31.75 in (54%) Weight- 23.0 lbs (31%)  Head-18.5 (64%)

Taylee Turns 5

I can't believe that 5 years ago we had our first little girl! Time has flown. Tay is so excited to be in Preschool. I think she is even more excited that she is five and can now chew gum. She also decided that for her birthday that she wanted to get her ears pierced. So we took her to get it done. She didn't make a peep. She flinched when they did the second ear but that was it. She was beaming after she got them done and wouldn't stop looking at herself making sure they were still there.

She had a Pink-a-licious birthday party with a bunch of her friends, (NO BOYS ALLOWED!!!!) She still loves being a big sister to Carmindy. And they are starting to play so good with each other. Even though they are fighting over everything.

Taylee can't wait to start kindergarten in the fall. She was so excited to get all the paperwork turned in. She however didn't really care for getting the rest of her shots. If you ask her about it she will tell you she screamed "bloody murder" which she did. We are so proud of how grown up she is becoming and how much of a helper she really is.

Her stats :  Height- 3 ft 5 in     Weight- 35 lbs

I have no pictures to post. I haven't taken very many of the girls lately. Carmindy went for her 15 month checkup, oh about a month ago...I'm really bad at getting posts in. Here are her stats:

WEIGHT 21.75 POUNDS 33%
HEIGHT 30.0 INCHES 37%

She is getting such a personality and is learning so many new words everyday. We can understand most anything that has a "B" sound and she says mama and dad alot.

Christmas 2011

We had quite the adventure at our house this year. It was so much fun to have both the girls right in all the action. Taylee enjoyed ripping her presents open and Carmindy took the slower approach by taking pieces off at a time and handing them to us as she went. It was so fun to see the excitement when they saw the things that Santa brought.
Santa brought the girls a wagon. Carmindy loves it and throws a big fit when she has to get out.

Taylee loves jerky a.k.a "meat" and she got a bag all to herself.

It must have been breakfast time...she was so hungry

In their new dresses

After church we decided to finish opening all the presents from santa and everyone else. Carm got thing for her baby dolls. She knew exactly what is was and started trying it out right away!!!
Taylee loves her new clothes. She thinks she is pretty awesome, which she is!!!
Carmy even got new sippies....hence carrying both of them and trying to use them!
Grandpa Doug and Grandma Kay Dell got them new dolls. The girls love them!
Yes she is in a dog bed! (It was clean!!!)

If you haven't heard Carmindy laugh lately you are missing out. She has this evil little deap throated laugh that is so funny! I wish we could get it recorded really well but she knows when we are doing it and stops. She was doing her laugh all day on Christmas!
We hope that you all had a very Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!
