Camping 101

So we had a Family Reunion this past weekend. I wasn't quite sure what to expect with Taylee because last year she wasn't old enough to really understand what was going on. This year on the other hand she had alot of fun. She played with lots of cousins and she loved being outside. Most of all she wanted her Grandma. She wanted absolutely nothing to do with me or Grady. As much as we enjoy a break from being parents. It was kinda difficult getting her to understand that she can't always have her grandma. She mostly wanted her during the big horseshoe touney that we have every year. Aside from Taylee being a stinker and my camera not having batteries for long. Here a the few pictures I was able to take.

Taylee being a grump
The Horseshoe Tourney. Tay is going to get her grandma...again!

Tay and her uncle Pat

Tay and Daddy. She was upset because we wouldn't let her go find her Grandma. She would have gotten wacked by a horseshoe.

Flowers!!!

She didn't want the flower in her hair

Tay and her Grandma...........Finally!!

Eating Chips and playing with some golf game. (I can't remember the name of it)

Grady playing shoes. (He is right behind the guy in front)

Taylee in a good mood for once.

Taylee and Josie. They had so much fun together.

These two got into a lot of mischeif. The would run off together and we would have to hunt them down. Right before we left they went to Josie's car and we couldn't find them. We were frantically looking every where because no one saw them sneek off. STINKERS!!! It didn't take long to find them. Leave it to Taylee to do stuff like that. Lets just say I wasn't the only one freaking out a little.

The Fourth of JULY!!!

So our 4th started off with a parade around my parents neighborhood. All the kids decorate their bikes and wagons and have a ride around the block. It was kinda funny because they went on the sidewalk and not in the road. Safety first I guess. So here is Tay, my mom and Rusty walking in the parade.

I think he was having a little too much fun lighting off the fireworks

We had a great weekend. I was sick the entire time but we had fun hanging out with my family and enjoying the nice weather!! Tay loves to play with her cousins and had so much fun with the fireworks. She didn't even get scared when they lit the screamers.

Summer Fun!!

Last week I took a little trip up to So. Jordan to help my sister with her boys because she was getting her tonsil out. And my newest nephew happened to be at my parents house and I HAD to see him. Lucky for me (not really) it pretty much was bad weather the entire time I was there. Except Friday. Anyway during the day Taylee and her cousin Rusty decided to go outside. It wasn't raining and the sun just happened to be out. This is what I found them doing!!! When i asked them what they were doing they told me they were washing their hands because they were dirty!! Since there wasn't much water coming out of the drain I didn't really care. But somehow they both managed to get pretty wet.
They both eventually discovered that they could put their handprints on the sidewalk. I think my parents backyard was covered. Its funny how they find things that entertain them for so long.
Later that day after all the rain stopped I found them outside again yelling into the gutters where the water was coming out. "Water, are you?" I couldn't stop laughing. I just wish I would have been fast enough to take a picture or video or something.

Ok so if you haven't noticed by the picture I cut my hair...alot. Before I went to So. Jordan. I decided to get it cut. Well I was just planning on getting it trimmed but then I thought well you can trim it or whack it. I whacked it. 10 inches to be exact. Lucky for me I was able to donate it to Locks of Love again. I figured there was someone who needed my hair more than I do. And my hair seems to be growing fast. Plus I live in St. George!! It's hot! Long hair and heat don't mix. Well for me they don't.
I had to come home saturday because of Fathers Day and Nursery. But before we left we attened the South Jordan Day Parade. Taylee loved the parade. She got so much candy and she giggled and danced and my parents and I laughed because it was so funny.

This is Taylee and her bag of candy. People were very generous. I think it was because of the rain.

Some tanning salon was handing out balloons to all the kids. She held onto it the entire 4 hour ride home!!

Picking up yet again more candy...

Cheering and clapping . She was so excited for everything

Even the Jazz Bear came

Waiting on the curb for people to throw candy so she could run into the street and get it.

Taylee got so excited from the parade she slept for at least 2 hours on the way home. I was glad I didn't have to entertain her, because it rained most of the way and the huge gusts of wind didn't help the driving situation. I enjoyed coming back and I can't wait to do it again. But this time Grady gets to do the driving!!!

Water Baby!!!

The pool has been so much fun this summer. Ever since it opened we have been going all the time. Taylee loves the water and is not afraid of anything. She even swims around and jumps in by herself. The other day I finally broke down and took my camera to capture some pictures. I also happened to have Kids swim goggles in the pool bag and once she saw them she had to have them on. Me and Tay at the pool
Tay Swimming

Crazy kid!!!

Strutting her stuff!!! No she was in and out of the pool all day. She thinks its fun to jump off the steps.

Swimming by herself
Since going to the pool so much I have started getting a pretty good tan. Now only if the weather would cooperate then I would have an even better one!! Taylee of course through genetics is even tanner than I am. It's not fair!! :( But I am grateful that she isn't afraid of the water and that we can go swimming. She loves it and one of these days I'll get her in lessons. Until then she will just have to explore the pool in her floaty and practice blowing bubbles!!!

Summer Time!!!

Because of the WONDERFUL climate where we live we are able to enjoy the blessings of summer earlier than most. And we are also lucky to live somewhere with a pool just down the parking lot. (We don't really like where we live but we do enjoy the perks!!) Our pool has been open since the end of April and we have enjoyed going pretty regularly. Tay finally likes the water and is not afraid at all to go swim arount the entire pool as long as she is wearing her floaties. The other day she decided she was ready to go and put the big floatie that we have on...upside down. I couldn't help but snap a few pictures because it was so funny. She even got stuck so I had to help her out of it. When we are ready to go she gets her arm floaties out and makes us put them on most of the time before we leave the house. Then she runs as fast as she can to get to the pool. We usually don't get there fast enough because she is already to get in when we get there. We have to remind her to take off her shoes, otherwise she would just jump right in. Speaking of jumping in. She isn't afraid at all. We have to watch her because the 1..2..3 jump doesn't work very well anymore. She will just fly right of the edge of the pool whether you are ready for her or not. I guess it's time for swimming lessons!!! Tay also loves it when her friends come. Last night some of our friends came to the pool with us. Taylee and her friend Brady swam all over the pool. It was so fun to watch them. Maybe the next time we go I'll remember the camera and get some shots of Tay. It really is so funny to watch.

We hope you all enjoy summer as much as we do. And if you are ever down in good ol' St. George stop by and come for a swim we would love to have you!!

Mommy's Day!!!

Mothers Day is such a great holiday. I never really paid any attention to it until I had Taylee. And of course she has no idea what happens but it's ok. Since we don't have church until 1 we just lounged around until we needed to start getting ready. Of course I had to get ready for nursery and since we just discovered that Tay has anouther ear infection, I went about the nursery thing and Grady laid on the couch while Tay watched her Disney Channel shows!! I wanted the kids in nursery to make their moms cards but it was harder than it looked. They would rather play with toys and things so they mostly just colored. Anyway we had a great afternoon. After church we went up to Enterprise and relaxed outside and ate dinner. Since it is becoming so hot down here it was a nice change to go somewhere cooler. I need a holiday like that every once in a while!!!

On Saturday we spent a good majority of the day at the park. It was the Red Rock Music Festival and Grady's band was asked to play!! They did such a good job rocking the park!! They only played for about 45 minutes and they played some of their best songs. I couldn't how much the crowd liked them and really got into the music. As hot as it was it was still fun to be outside in a different setting to watch them. No matter where they play they always seem to have a great time. After they played we came home and hung out at our pool and had a barbeque with some friends and them we went back to the park to listen to another band. What a day! I think Tay enjoyed what she could when she wasn't sleeping!!!

Into The Cold!!!

So over the weekend I went with Taylee to South Jordan to visit family and for my Sister-in-law's baby shower. And my cousin was also getting married so I was able to go to his reception. Anyway it was so great the day we got there. The sun was shining but you could see the nasty storms that were coming. Once the rain and SNOW came it only stopped every once in a while. I was not ready to be cold again. And of course my family just laughed at me. I drove up from 68 degree weather at 7:30 in the morning to a freezing cold weekend that I of course forgot to plan for. Luckily we had done some shopping and got some warmer things for Taylee. I did pack reasonably but it wasn't good enough to not be cold in my taste. Anyway enough complaining about the cold... For the shower I decided to attempt fate and make a diaper cake. My mother in law made one for my baby shower and I thought it would be fun. I don't think it turned out half bad!!

On Friday night I decided to stay over at my sisters house so we could work on stuff for the shower and because we promised Tay a sleepover at her house. So the next morning I didn't think about bringing clothes because I figured we would go back to my parents house and get ready for the day. But we needed to get Tay dressed so we just used some smaller clothes of my nephew and got her ready. She didn't wear this all day but long enought that we could take pictures. She had to wear a had because the boys did.

Tay loves looking at the fish tank.

This shirt, even though it isn't hers, is so beyond the truth!!

Muscles!!!

We were laughing so hard at this picture because she is dressed like a "trucker" and she has the funniest look on her face. But she looks cute anyway.
