July 4 2012
So for the 4th we went fishing...yep again and let me say this girl can fish. Not me, Taylee. She yet again, caught a couple on this trip up to Pine Valley.
Even dad caught one, little tiny one!!!
This is Carm, yep she is COVERED in dirt.
After fishing we went home to get cleaned up and meet Pat and Marci's family at the police station to watch the city put on their show. They talked and talked about how many more fireworks there were going to be this year and how long the show was...but I thought it was kinda a lame show. It was pretty short in my opinion.
Taylee loves "sparks" (sparklers) and I had my camera on a funny setting and I was surprised that it was capturing this.
Here are some pics of the fireworks. I know they are all funny looking but I had my camera on a crazy setting and this is what I got. In my opinion they are totally awesome but that is just me!
And to end the day we sat on the bench for just a second before going home to bed.
It was a pretty awesome 4th.
Not Your Ordinary Zoo...
So the first weekend in June, we went with Grady's brothers and their families to Roo's and more Zoo in Moapa Nevada. We of course went to see the Kangaroos but soon discovered upon waiting in line it was extra to actually see the Kangaroos and Otters...Total BUMMER!!! But there were plenty of animals that we could see up close. (Even better than the regular zoo)
For instance this little guy...he was definately trying to get out of there!!!
I got to pet the foot of this lemur. He was totally just hanging out watching everyone
Yep my kids are petting a Bearcat...
I can't remember what this is but he liked to sit on your shoulders...Tay was a little small so she opted to sit down with him.
Yep its a real zebra and of course some camels
Yep he's a climber!!!
Onto the babies!!!!
Tay loved that they had babies of some of the animals and she got to touch them. This was a tiny little monkey. I wanted to just take it home.
Carm giving it a little pet!!
Aren't they so cute!!!
They had a small petting farm with goats and such...plus a big ol' pig!
Carm was really excited to sit on this ride. It didn't work but she loved it just the same!
This is a nasty looking catfish. I couldn't believe how big it was.
I can honestly say it wasn't that exciting but the girls still had a good time. Living here in Sunny ST. George we don't get to see these things very often. So we jumped at a chance and now they have a small memory of Summer 2012!

Pine Valley June 3 2012
We decided to head up to Pine Valley to do a little fishing...again! Luckily for me my in-laws were there and if you know my girls they are all about Grandma Bev! And I just got a new Lense for my camera that I wanted to try out. It was so pretty up there, very green. So I just messed around with it.
The moon was totally amazing that night. It came up right over the mountain and it was huge and very orange because of the fires. I took so many shots of it but these were just a few that I liked.
The sunset was very light and pink and since everyone was calling it quits for the day, because the fish weren't biting anything but the bugs over the water, the water turned really calm.
Of course the girls with Grandma "Beb" Bev.

Our new Kitchen
We have been living in our house for almost a year!! Grady and I have been talking about painting. Because our entire house is the same tan-ish color that I can't stand anymore. Being a stay-at-home mom, it really gets old looking at the same color of walls throughout the house. I desperately needed something to brighten up the open kitchen/living room. I really wanted to paint the wall in the kitchen blue. But Grady didn't want a blue wall. He said red was fine but I think everyone and their Grandma has a red wall. I just didn't want it. So for months we would look at colors and we decided on green. So we got a sample and I started the process.
Grady was heading out of town and I really wanted to have the wall painted why he was gone. Since we had decided on the color I was ready to go. But because our walls our tan, blah, we have to do 2 coats. Even with the paint/primer in one! Such a task. But I got to work and got it done, well almost, I ran out of paint.
Got more paint and Grady to move our GIGANTIC ladder so I could finish the wall up.
Here it is completely done!! It was exhausting doing it but I can say I have gotten pretty good at doing so.
This is the color we picked. Its called Corn Husk Green. If it looks really pale its not. You have to look at this pic at and angle without direct light. And we absolutely love it. It has already made such a difference in brightening up the rooms.
Now that this project of painting is done. On to the decortating part. I have a huge shelf I'm almost done with but I need something really awesome to go on the wall. If you have any ideas let me know.
Well on to the next project! Actually we don't have one. Well maybe we do. Soon we should have a backyard...well at least the start of one...hopefully.
Here Fishy Fishy
For Memorial Day we decided to get together with Grady's Family and hit Enterprise reservoir for some much needed relaxation and some killer fishing. If you know me you know I don't like to fish, at all. But Grady got into it a little bit last summer and so did Taylee. We have a strict catch and release policy at our house. Why keep it if you aren't going to eat it! Anyway we had quite a successful day fishing. Here are some pictures to prove it.
First Catch of the Day. Way to go Pat!!!
For the first time since she got her pole Tay caught a fish all by herself. Yes that huge fish on her tiny little Princess fishing pole. She was so excited. She kept telling us that she had one and we finally realized it when it was close enough to see it. She reeled it all the way to shore. She wouldn't touch the thing or hold it or even kiss it!! ...
But she did talk to it while Grady was getting the hook loose. She kept saying, "its ok little fishy we'll get that out of you real soon and you can get back in the water." It was pretty funny stuff. The best thing is that she actually understands now that you just kinda hang out on your chair and wait for the fish to bite and you stay quiet. She did just that up until about the last hour and then she decided she was bored.
Letting the fish go
Here she goes again!! Bringing in #2. She was so excited she said, "I can't believe I just caught my second first fish!!!"
While Grady and Taylee were fishing this what Carmindy was doing. Eating and being really cute. She loved to walk all over the beach and play with her cousin Graham. And I chased both of them around with the camera taking pics inbetween capturing all the catches of the day.
This is what Grandpa David caught. Taylee wouldn't quit teasing him about how small his fish was.
Half of the family
Grady's first catch of the day!!!
Yes she is eating again. More snacks!
Finally caught something that was alive!
Wyatt and his big Mama fish. It was leaking some sort of fluid while he held it. Do fish pee? That was a question for the day.
Somehow Tay ended up like this. Who needs face paint when you have dirt?
Carmindy and I hanging out. She was being a little stink but she had fun.
Showing Carm the fish. She didn't know what to think of the thing. She freaked out when we asked her if she wanted to touch it.
By the end of the day we were all exhausted from playing around, fishing, talking and laughing. We all got a little too much sun but it was worth it in the end. Because Taylee caught her Second First fish.
