Boys already??

So on saturday morning before going to feed the ducks we were watching our friends little boy while they were playing basketball. They were playing for awhile and they went upstairs to play with the toys in Tay's room. They ended up getting the few dress up items that she has and wanted to put them on. So I did. I helped Tay into her Tutu from halloween and Brady decided he wanted to put on the fairy wings.

Then I decided to let them run up and down the sidewalk to release all the energy that these two get when they play together. So I snapped some pictures of them running around.

Playing with the rocks since we don't have grass anymore.

She posed like this herself..

I just think it's so funny how much better she gets along with boys then girls. She has girls that are her age but she only sees them at church ususally. It might be because there are no other girls in the family that are her age given the exception of a few that we don't see very often but at least she is making friends. All I have to do is wait about 10 years or so and then become truely scared.

Ducks, Ducks, Ducks

So Grady had been talking to Tay about feeding the ducks all week. He would ask her "Do you want to go feed the ducks?" And she would say "Yesh!" So on Saturday we went to the golf course that has this pretty big pond ful of ducks, geese and a couple of swans. She was pretty excited.

Grady was trying to show her how to throw the bread to the ducks in the water. She didn't quite catch on but I still think she liked it. Because now she can say duck.

We kept giving her bread to feed the ducks with but instead she decided it was hers. So everytime we gave her some she would say mine and eat it. She had a pretty big mouthful. Just before feeding the ducks we went to the store and while we were there Tay tripped and hit her mouth on the tile floor. She ended up biting her lip pretty bad and this was the result. We tried to take care of it but she really didn't think it was so bad. It did get worse unfortunately but we still haven't had anything broken or stitches yet. Knock on Wood!!!

Life as a mother and a roadie!!

Ok so things have finally slowed down here at our house. Well kinda. I am constantly picking up Taylees stuff because it is everywhere and once it gets put away its right back where it was. She helps but after about two seconds of putting things where they go she likes to dump the totes out or she pushes everything around. Its nothing new I am getting used to the fact. I figure one day my house won't look like a tornado has come through it.
Well Tay is really starting to talk now. Our favorite is asking her where someone or something is because she says her version of I don't know. It makes us laugh. She is picking up new words everyday and sometimes even actions. Like spitting, blowing your nose, clearing your throat etc. She thinks that it is so funny and if you laugh at her because she is acting silly she will laugh with you because she has not idea that its about her. It's great!! She is so fun but if you ever want her just let me know. Some days I need a break.
Well busy hasn't hit us yet. Back when we were dating I would go to band practice with Grady every week and to anywhere they played. Now I don't go hardly at all. But he says I'm still a roadie!! And the band is booked all the way until Labor Day this year. I can't believe they are going to be playing that much. They are playing all over St. George, Cedar City and now they are playing in Beaver. It may be a long drive but they have such a fun time. It will only be busy for me because when he is gone those days playing I have to find things to do. I usually don't go to the gigs except on special occasions but I do get pretty bored with him gone. I guess those are the only times I get to watch the chick flics that he won't watch with me!!! Anyway if you are ever in town or feel like listening go to www.closuretheband.com and check them out. They also have a calendar of all their gigs. I won't remember them all this year there are way too many. And now that you can't smoke in the bars it's nice to be able to go and not deal with it. (Maybe that means all of his gear won't smell so bad anymore!!!) It's great that he has a hobbie!! I have too many and I need to do more with them... One day I will have the space and time.

Our Very Merry Christmas!!

This year we got to celebrate Christmas alot. It was worth every minute. Taylee got this Radio Flyer Turtle that she loves to ride on. More than that she likes to put things in the seat. She tried to put all the little things she got from Grandpa inside and then try to ride it. She wanted to take it everywhere and she of course got so mad when I wouldn't let her.
The next stop was Grandma's House and the first thing she opened was a baby doll with all the little stuff that goes with it. Once that was opened we had a hard time trying to convince her to open all the other gifts because she just wanted to play with the doll. It laughs and cries and she thinks its he greatest.
This is our dog Molly trying to see what the heck is going on. Even though she can't live with us we still got her a huge bone!!!
Tay decided to help all of us open our presents so she helped dad with his first.
Here's me! I got great gifts this year!! Thanks everyone! But the best was seeing how fun Taylee had with opening gifts and playing with all her new toys.
Thanks to Grandma Taylee gets a couple of new pairs of pajamas every year. These ones were so cute.

The next stop we trekked up to South Jordan and stayed with my parents from Christmas Eve until the Sunday after. Christmas Eve night we had quite the treat. My parents decided to act out the nativity using Tay, Rusty and Brockton. They were so cute but I don't think that they wanted to wear the costumes very badly and Taylee being her graceful self decided to drop the baby Jesus and drag him by the head. Rusty played Joseph and Brockton played a Sheppard. I do have it on video. We also sang lots of Christmas songs and ended up attempting to go to bed and get some sleep but that didn't happen. Not because of excitement we just weren't comfortable at all. We did eventually adjust the bed.
Taylee loves to talk on the phone. What girl doesn't? But she got an Elmo phone and she talked on it all day long. If you let her have your cell phone don't expect to get it back anytime soon.
Don't worry that is Rusty's Tractor not Tay's even though she loves to play with the boy's stuff. (And your not really supposed to ride it but she thought it would be fun)
This is me and Tay hoping that everyone had the best holidays and we hope you have a very Happy New Year!!!

Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

For most people St. George is lovely year round. Most of the time it isn't cold and the sun shines almost everyday. We occasionally get rain and even snow but it soon dries and we go back to having fabulous weather that you only need a t-shirt and maybe a jacket. Until recently that was the case. I hadn't even pulled out my winter coat because we didn't need it. I would go outside without putting a jacket on because it was so nice. Well not anymore. I had finally climitized myself with the weather down here and it snows and gets really cold. I couldn't believe it. But unfortunately the first storm all we got was wet.

This is what we got in our back yard

The snow that we did get melted by the next day. But the storm didn't end there. We got hit pretty bad yesterday and this was the result.

Taylee getting ready to go play in the snow...

Out the door...

Even though she may not look like it she didn't want to come back inside from playing in the snow. She loves the cold and for some reason always has. And yes I just realized that there is a lot of purple in this post. Oh well I'm too lazy right now to change it. Anyway we hope you are enjoying the snow as much as we are. We don't see it very often and when you come from places that always gets snow its nice to see it stick around every once in a while.

"Flour Child"

So I made bread the other day (Yes the old fashioned way...) and I needed more flour out of our storage buckets. Because I was making a lot. Anyway Tay decided to help get the flour out. I hadn't noticed what she was doing and of course when I turned around I had dough all over my hands to it took me a second to take picture. She seemed to have alot of fun because she kept coming back to play in the pile that she had made. And I couldn't clean it up right away.

Getting the flour out of the bucket with the measuring cup that she got by herself out of the drawer...

Making a bigger mess...

Picking it back up to try and put it in the bucket...

The Mess...

Getting caught...

The results...

I have now learned to put the lids back on the buckets. This entire mess was my fault but you learn from your mistakes and most of the time it gives you a chance to watch you kids do funny things. Luckily messes clean up and she can always remember what she did when she was little because I took the picture. Yes she will probably be really embarassed but that is what parents get to do right?

MADE IN BRAZIL

So we went to Made In Brazil last night and I have to say it is one of the best resturants I have been too in a long time. It is a resutrant like Rodizio Grill. They have a salad/ sidedish bar that you can go to throughout the night and you can also eat as much as you want of the meat and they also have grilled pineapple. The best was the drink!! Weird I know but we both had limeades and then strawberry limeades and they were to die for. They were just frothy and very good. They have all different kinds of meat and some of it is rare but they ask you to tell them if you want something cooked better. The best part for me was this is one of the only resturants that I have gone to that when I got home I haven't been sick from it. I don't know what my problem is but I don't like being sick after I eat out. Anyway that is my review of Made in Brazil. I will have to say that it is kinda pricey but it isn't too bad because eating really good food is worth it. So if you are ever in St. George go to Made in Brazil.
